Blessed are the poor in spirit , for theirs is the kingdom of heaven , Jesus said , starting the Sermon on the Mount . Thus stood spiritual humility first among the virtues we need to acquire merit the glory of the redeemed souls .Exegetes
of the Gospel , completely misrepresenting the meaning of this maxim ,
wish she proclaims blessed those apoucados intelligence , the mentally
retarded , idiots and imbeciles .Such
an interpretation , however , is untenable because , to be true , there
would be no place in heaven for the rich in spirit , and the Master
himself , the epitome of spiritual wealth that the earth has ever known ,
would be left out .By
" poor in spirit " in the sense in which Jesus used these words , one
should understand those who , aspiring to perfection , and comparing
with the ideal to be achieved and the little stage that they have
reached recognize how much they are still lacking spirituality. They
are blessed because they have the notion that their weaknesses and
blemishes makes them fight for what they lack , and that increased
efforts leads them actually achieve greater spiritual progress .Have
those who accommodate the tiniest standards of morality , or show
satisfied with his condition , considering good enough , unlike the
former , are not among the blessed because , either through ignorance ,
either by pride, remain stationary when the spiritual life as well as everything in nature , is governed by a constant thrust forward and upward .Likewise,
those who understand do not need to be cultivating a noble and upright
character , because (according judge ) " the blood of Christ was shed to
redeem the sins of mankind " are also not included among those whose
attitude of mind was exalted by the Nazarene .Despite
the respectability of their religious principles , only vislumbrarão
when the celestial kingdom will recognize the poverty of his virtues ,
and strive hard for the achievements because everyone to whom Christ
redeemed there , in fact , have to leave the evil deeds to " present themselves holy and spotless and blameless before him ." ( Colossians 1:22)The
placement of humility of mind , as the first of the beatitudes, it
seems to us , therefore, not merely accidental, but purposeful , as the
future happiness of each individual depends largely on the concept that
he makes of himself .Who ever with perfect health does not care about her or want a doctor to treat her . Also
one that is assumed without defects , or already considered safe ,
neglects the healthiness of your soul , and when least expected , the
surprise death without having advanced a single step towards spiritual
realization,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Bem-aventurados
(Colossenses, 1:22)
A
